Since no two items are a like, a printed catalog is just not practical. Instead you will find a representation of the
types of items that are available at Nature Gallery on this website. Visit us often and check out new items
which will change every month. If you see something that you are interested in purchasing , please call us or send
us an email and we’ll let you know if that particular item is currently available…if not we are happy to email you some
photos of similar items.
Can I buy from Nature Gallery on-line?
Nature Gallery minerals, fossils, jewelry and fine art photographs are not available for purchase on line. The cornerstone of Nature Gallery’s business is the personal connection that we make with our clients from around the country and around the world. Please be in touch with us so that we can provide the personal Nature Gallery shopping experience.
Where do you get all the cool stuff from?
Nature Gallery owner, Carol Garsten attends two major world class gem and minerals shows every year. In addition,
since Nature Gallery has been in business for 17 years in Palo Alto, several mineral and fossil dealers select the best items that they can find and bring them directly to the gallery.
Do you make all the jewelry?
Nature Gallery owner, Carol Garsten, designs a line of jewelry “87Rocks” which is sold exclusively at Nature Gallery. There are two collections per year in this one of a kind line. Garsten is known for her exquisite asymmetric earrings and her combinations of such items as dinosaur egg shell and moldavite tektite. Other jewelry designers represented at Nature Gallery include: Judith Ubick, Sasa, Baraka, Go Jolly, Joanne Dowdy, Monarch and Jewelry by Claire.
What forms of payment do you accept at Nature Gallery?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Checks and of course, Cash.
Do you offer Layaway? How does it work?
Yes, Nature Gallery offers a 90 day layaway. Many times people fall in love with something that they did not expect to find! You can place an item(s) on layaway by giving us a 25% non refundable deposit. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Once an item is on layaway it is removed from the gallery display. You can make payments along the way or pay the balance at the end of the layaway period. Some customers like to visit with their layaway items when they come to make payments! Others plan to wait 90 days to pick up the item….but they find they just can't wait and come in within a couple of weeks. There is no service charge for layaway…but it is a firm deal…so be sure that you really want it.
How often do you get new items in the gallery?
New items are put out on display almost every week. We offer photos of new items here on the website and also feature new arrivals in our monthly email newsletter. Sign up for our email list here.
Do you ever have a sale?
In 24 years in business, Nature Gallery has never had a “Sale”. The Gallery prides itself in purchasing exceptional product that it can afford to sell for great value. Items in the gallery range in price from 50 cents to $8000. Several times during the year the gallery will have “Trunk Shows” of specific artist's work. During these weekend events the featured artist work will be available at special show price.
Do you do jewelry repair work?
We don’t do any jewelry repair work in the gallery. For silver and gold jewelry repairs we refer our clients to Brad at House of Treasures at 188 2nd Street in Los Altos (650) 949-2699. For bead restringing and redesign we refer people to Jewelry by Claire at: www.jewelrybyclaire.com
Are children welcome at Nature Gallery?
We are delighted to be an education resource for well behaved children from age 5 and up. The kids drawers, filled with crystals, fossils and geodes from 50 cents to $15 provide a great place for kids to explore. Many of the local kids say that Nature Gallery is their favorite store….even more favorite that the toy store across the street! New specimens are regularly added to the kids drawers so they can start or add to their own rock collection.
